When you search the Internet you are looking for specific information! When you find something close to what you are seeking (for example, car alarm systems) you click it to learn more.

Now imagine on the web site you are visiting there is a link that says, "Installing Your Car Alarm" or "Theft Proof Car Alarms." Would you be interested in clicking those links? If you said yes, the individual who owns that site will make some pennies from you clicking on it. In many cases, they could make dollars from that click!

You're probably wondering, "How is this possible? This must be a gimmick or there is some trickery involved!" Sorry to disappoint you but there are people Making Money On The Internet each month from those clicks. And I'm one of them!

There are individuals, small and large businesses who target key phrases in the hopes of reaching a particular market. One of the options available to them is to allow others to display the ads on their site. This is called the Google Content Network.

Simply put, you sign up for Adsense, select the type, size and color of the ads you would like to place on your site, add it to your site, upload your page and within minutes the ads will match the content on your site.

If it's set up right, when people visit your site they will be inclined to click on those ads as it would provide them with additional information to help them find what they are looking for. That's the simplified version of what some people are doing to make money on the internet.

I'm Not That Savvy With Computers! Can I Still Do It?

The truth is you can make money on the web if you are willing to put forth the effort, don't mind learning a new set of skills and have some patience! Otherwise, I would not recommend you attempt this endeavor.

You will have to continually test and many of those tests will fail. However, when you succeed a huge smile will come across your face because your labor will begin to bear fruit.

Just so you know you can get started with as little as 4 hours a week. If you are unwilling to invest 4-hours find something else to do! This is not for you!

Making Money On The Web...How Much Money Can You Really Make?

The income you make online is dependent on your effort, topic of interest, traffic and a host of other variables that is out of my control, and many times yours.

What I can tell you is if you put forth the effort you will see incremental results that will drive you to want to increase your income.

One thing to keep in mind is you will have to test a lot of things before you will find a combination that works for you. The more traffic you get to the site the quicker you will get your test results.

To be honest, I don't make a whole lot from doing this myself. I started playing around with a few things back in April 2005. It wasn't until October 2005 that I got focused and started testing various things. As a result of my testing, here is my revenue from April 2005 to the present:

(*Note #1: Received my first payment in July 2005! It took me over 1 year and three months to accumulate the $100 minimum before I could receive my first payment. I wondered how I could shorten this time period and begin testing some more.) (**Note #2: Received another payment in October 2005. I shorten my payment period from 1 year and 3-months to 3-months. So I began to test some more in October to see if I can shorten the period again.) (***Note #3: Received another payment in December 2005. I shorten my payment period from three months to two months. I'm working on shortening it to once per month.) (****Note #4: During the month of February, March and April, I did not put up a new site or add another page. I literally did not do anything to the web sites.) (Note: For the month of May I added a site that focused on fun and entertainment. I spent $23 to get the software to help me create the site and made $6.72 back so far.) (~Note: The month of June confirmed my hunch that the income would be low for the topics I target. Warm weather, graduation, vacations and kids getting out of school were major factors for the decrease. My fun and entertainment site brought in $7.49. It looks like I'm on track to make my money back in three months!) (~~Note: The month of July, as expected, was similar to June. What you should keep in mind is I have not added new sites or pages for several months with the exception of my fun and entertainment site. That site brought in $7.48 this month, which brings my 3-month total $21.69. I am short 1.31 as my goal was to recoup my $23 investment in three months! I'm not complaining! (~~~Note: The month of August picked up a little. I did notice a trend on one of my sites and will be expanding it over the month of September. So, I expect to increase my monthly average to over $200! (~~~~Note: As you can see I did not achieve my $200 goal for September. The truth is I did not follow through with the plan to add additional content to the site that did well in August. Once I do that I know it will reach at least $200 per month. Keep in mind, I'm still not doing anything to make this money. Imagine what I could do if I had the time? (#Note: In only 28-days in February, I was able to make more than I made in 31-days in January. If I had two or three more days I would have almost reached $300 for the month. )

As you can see, it's pennies but they are adding up to dollars! Now here's the fun part that will have you thinking. What if you were able to get just $1 a day from each web site you build.

With five web sites you could make $5 per day. Multiply that by 30 days and you have $150 per month. Now keep in mind how much you make is not set in stone. I cannot guarantee anything. But if you put forth some effort and keep testing you could easily make $1 a day per site over a period of time.

The goal is simple when you begin to build these sites. Get as many $1 a day sites as you can up and start making money on the internet. If you can build 100 sites that bring in $1 a day that would be $3,000 per month. Would that be enough for you?

How Soon Can I Begin Making Money On The Internet?

That depends on you! I mean you can't take the pennies you earn and deposit them into your bank account right away! You must reach the payout threshold of $100!

That would involved many steps that takes time such as identifying a topic(s), developing a site(s), driving traffic to your web site(s), testing the placement of the ads, the color, size, etc. You have to find the right combination that works on your site. Once you have it then you copy it to other sites. But you still have to test.

This is not the Field of Dreams where, "If you build it they will come!" That's a bunch of crap! You have to be where people are searching for the information you offer on your web site. That's the bottom line!
